Simplex Fabricated Basket Strainer
Most of the industrial system runs with the help of various types of industrial fluids. The performance of such systems depends upon fluid cleanliness. To cater to such applications fabricated units that consist of buckets inside them are placed between fluid lines. The prime work of these units is to hold dirt inside the bucket and let the clean fluid pass into the system. Fabricated units that consists of a single basket inside them for filtering the fluid are known as simplex strainers. Material Selection for Bucket Strainer
Some basic things need to be considered while selecting a material for such types of filters. The type of application, working environment, and working fluid play a major role in the selection of material. To clean hydraulic oil and industrial raw water, mild steel (MS) is considered as a first choice for manufacturing. Inner elements in all types of basket strainers are made of stainless steel material either SS 304 or SS 316.
Need of Bucket Type Strainer
Conventional Y-type and T-type strainers are not very useful compared to bucket types when a higher filtration area is needed. The basket strainer provides more filtration area upto four times of the pipe cross sectional area. The added advantage that it provides is less pressure drop compared to other type of filters. The cost of these filters is also very compatible compared with others.
